COVID-19 Information

Reopening Plan for Scheduled Events Only

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz's "Stay Safe Plan" provides a set of four phases for the safe reopening of businesses in a number of settings.  Minnesota is currently in Phase III in which groups of up to 250 people with social distancing in place are allowed to gather.  With guidelines in place, River's Edge Convention Center is ready to resume hosting scheduled events.

The Reopening Plan for Coronavirus (COVID-19) for River's Edge Convention Center is available for your review.  River's Edge will update this plan as new or revised recommendations are issued by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and/or the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH).

Attending an Event

If you are planning on attending an event at River's Edge, we would ask that you do the following:

  1. Self-check your body temperature prior to arriving at River's Edge.
  2. If you are symptomatic, we strongly encourage you to not attend the event.
  3. If you are "high risk", again we strongly encourage you to reconsider attending the event.
  4. Check for COVID-19 symptoms by reviewing the MDH's Visitor and Employee Health Screening Checklist prior to arriving at River's Edge.
  5. Remember your face mask or face covering.  A face mask or face covering must be worn in this facility as mandated by State of Minnesota Executive Order 20-81.  A face mask or face covering includes a homemade cloth mask, scarf or bandana.  Your mask must cover your nose and mouth.
  6. Please read signage posted throughout the first floor of River's Edge directing you to open restrooms, hand sanitizing stations, registration area, entrance/exit, etc.
  7. Please practice social distancing and stay 6 feet apart from others at all times.
  8. Touchless hand sanitizer stations will be provided throughout the facility at key points.
  9. Read the information on parking and how to enter/exit the facility due to restricted access under MDH guidelines.

Parking and Entry/Exit to Facility

Since the State of Minnesota is in Phase III of the "Stay Safe Plan", access to River's Edge is still very restricted.  If you park your vehicle on the street or in a surface parking lot, you will need to enter/exit River's Edge using Door D.  Door D is located on the south side of the facility (near the cul de sac area).  Lettering for each set of doors is located above the doors.  If you park your vehicle in the parking ramp located under the facility (River's Edge Convention Center East Parking Ramp), please use the main elevator to gain access to the first floor of the facility.  You will need to use the same elevator in order to exit the facility.  All other doors to the facility remain locked in accordance with MDH guidelines.  Entry and exit to River's Edge as described above only applies when there are scheduled events in the faciality.  On non-event days, the facility is locked to the public.

Current Guidelines for Events

The MDH has issued specific guidelines for weddings, social events, meetings and conventions which will impact how your event moves forward.  Please review the Reopening Plan for Coronavirus (COVID-19) for River's Edge.  Staff at River's Edge will prepare an Event Work Order that will ensure that your event complies with the current recommended COVID-19 guidelines.
